Well today my luck was good...very good. We are in Hua Hin now at Ben's house. We went for a walk on the beach this morning for a couple of hours (which was lovely), the sun poked its nose out from behind the clouds for a few hours, so we actually managed to get some sun, have a swim in the pool and enjoy the beach. We got back to the car and were wiping the sand off our feet. I put my small digital camera on the car bumber at the back of the car, got in the car and off we went. When we pulled into Ben's garage I looked down and realized that my camera was not on my lap. A swear word jumped out of my mouth as I realized I had left the camera on the bumper.
Now you have to realize that it is about a 5 minute drive to the beach, you have to go over several speed bumps, you drive on a highway travelling about 100km an hour and then you have to take a side road that has pot holes and bumps. So I figured that my camera was for sure smashed to bits on the highway.
I jumped out of the car and ran to the back...and there was my camera, sitting in the exact same spot that it was in when we got in the car. Can you believe it? It seems impossible to me...but I am so THANKFUL. Dad was definitely watching me...
We had a great day today. Walk on the beach, followed by a lunch on the terrace (shrimp salad...with fresh shrimp from the market...nummies), swim in the pool under the hot Thai sun, cup of tea on the terrace and a few hours in Ben's office researching our next leg of our trip. Now we are going to steam some fresh sea bass...and those that now me know how much I love sea bass, grill some vegetable and DROOL!
